Position: Science Leader As the Science Leader/Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing an enriching science curriculum that caters to the specific needs of the students. Your passion for science and expertise in adapting teaching methods will inspire and motivate students, enabling them to explore scientific concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a love for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the science department, overseeing the planning and delivery of science lessons for students with special educational needs.
• KS3/KS4 Science teaching experience is desirable
• Develop a tailored science curriculum that aligns with the individual needs and abilities of students, promoting engagement and progress.
• Implement innovative teaching strategies and adapt resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective cross-curricular links and promote holistic learning experiences.
• Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field of science education and incorporate relevant resources and technologies into lessons.
• Promote science-related activities, such as experiments, projects, and field trips, to enhance students’ practical understanding.

Requirements:

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience in teaching science at a SEN or Mainstream School
• Strong subject knowledge in science and a deep understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Passionate about special education and dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum
• Understanding of special educational needs and the ability to differentiate
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow.
