Required by leading financial services client based in the City of London, to promote, facilitate and implement strong standards for Data throughout the business. To design and perform a programme of data management, prioritising the most material data sets and to ensure appropriate prioritisation and completion of remedial activities.

THE ROLE:

• Driving the use of automated data quality tools to deliver improvements/assist in providing assurance to management on the quality of data
• Develop visual reports and dashboards using Power BI desktop
• Connect data sources, import data, and transform data for reporting purposes
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as they relate to data governance
• Work alongside all teams in the business to build a strong culture of data ownership
• Identify and work with data owners to resolve data quality and governance issues
• Advise internally on best practice regarding data management
• be aware of the conduct rules as set out by the PRA & FCA Standards of Conduct
• comply with the relevant rules/regulations in relation to data protection, financial crime and conduct

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

• Knowledge of data quality and governance related analytical tools
• Excellent analytical thinking to support translating data into informative reports and visuals.
• Demonstratable experience – Microsoft BI Stack
• Advanced data manipulation skills and application of formulae.
• Knowledge of how insurance company data sets are used within the business
• An ability to “see the wood for trees” especially to understand what constitutes key data for prioritisation purposes
• An ability to understand how to implement a strategic approach to identifying, reporting on and correcting data quality issues
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills
