Senior Engineer Initial 12-month contract£35 an hour, umbrella Inside IR35WiltshireKey responsibilities of a Senior Engineer: As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a wide variety of projects within the fields of Traffic Engineering, Public Realm, Casualty reduction, Active Travel, and Traffic Signals With a well-established and experienced team, these roles offer the opportunity to further develop your career and the chance to help pass knowledge and experience to those taking early steps in theirs to produce the next generation of Engineers. The team delivers projects in many different settings from villages, to historic market towns, to the County’s City of Salisbury. Each project provides the chance to make a difference to the residents of the county and those who visit. You will liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders and other professionals within and outside of the authority, including members of the public, local representative groups and elected members, contractors, and other stakeholders. This role will focus on the commissioning and management of the Council’s consultants designing and delivering the programme of highway improvement and traffic engineering schemes. You will give direction and instruction to the consultants and act as the point of contact for the public and others including elected members.Qualifications & Experience We will look to you to have knowledge of current practices, procedures, guidance related to the Highway and Traffic Engineering sector and have experience using design software such as AutoCAD, KeyLines, KeySign, or alternative packages. You will be experienced in the process of Traffic Regulation Orders, and have experience in Traffic Engineering, or Integrated Transport related schemes from initial inception through to on-ground delivery. Recent knowledge and experience of contract management processes associated with NEC Contracts will be advantageous as the role will require regular liaison with the authorities appointed Consultant and Term Maintenance Contractor. Experience in mentoring and developing colleagues to produce engineers of the future will also be beneficial. You will ideally be qualified to HND level or above and preferably, be a member of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
