Senior Network Consultant – CCIE

Hybrid working – 2 days per week in Hampton, Peterborough
Our client needs a Senior Network Consultant to join them as a key member of the Networks and Telephony team.
For this role you will be CCIE qualified and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar SLA driven support role within an MSP.
Main purpose of the job:
The configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and trouble resolutions of network components to provide a robust, industry standard, communications platform.
Respond to incidents logged in the Incident Management system and provide end users with a technical solution within Service Level Agreements.

* Device Software Upgrades, Patches and Bug Fixes
* Configuration Backup/Restore
* Rule base and Network Configuration Change Management
Provide a point of technical escalation and expertise.
Maintain technical accreditations in line within the Cisco platform.
Escalate and work with vendors when required.
Setup and complete scheduled tasks when required.
Escalate potential service issues initially with Networks & Telephony Manager/Service Delivery Manager.
Escalate potential problem issues with Problem and Incident Management.
Recommend and deploy changes via the change management process when required.
Act as a role model for technical competence, helpfulness, facilitation of learning and teamwork.
Aid team members as required.
Proactively maintain and develop knowledge, skills and experience through client contact, industry sources, formalised training and development plan.
Work with Internal IT Engineers to better understand issues and solutions.
Provide technical assistance to on-going projects when required.
Participate in the on-call support rota (1 week in 4)
Knowledge and experience:
Essential
– At least 5 years’ experience in a similar SLA driven support role

– Web Filtering, Malware Analysis, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Firewall
– SNMP Monitoring solutions
– Proven Customer service Skills
– Proven experience delivering projects and complex changes
– Knowledge of ITIL processes
Desirable
– Cisco Call Manager
– Industry recognised qualifications, ideally CCNP equivalent or higher
– Natural problem solver, getting to the root cause and identifying a long-term fix
– A starter finisher who will wrap up a delivery to be learned/understood up by anyone later
