If so, this could be an exciting job opportunity to join this successful business as a Senior Planner / Transport Supervisor.As the Transport planner you will be proactive in your ability to plan and maximise the utilisation of the fleet. You will know what is working well within your area of responsibility and be able to identify opportunities for additional business to planned and scheduled.This role is a direct report to the Transport Operations Manager with the long term goal of the right candidate to progress into that role.Only apply if you hold a CPC – Transport Management License. Applicants without a CPC license will not be considered.What duties are involved?
What skills, experience & attributes are we looking for?The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as an effective haulage planner. You will have the commercial knowledge to understand the impact your decisions may cost the business as well as the compliance knowledge to utilise the fleet effectively. Through your experience and planning skills you are able to offer amazing fleet utilisation figures and add to the revenue of the business. If you are unable to provide the required service then your network of industry contacts is able to assist you in meeting those customer requirements.You will have held a previous supervisory/management role looking after both drivers and office staff. Comfortable giving and taking direction. Working cohesively as part of a management team as well as supporting the staff in the various teams in the business that are linked to your department. Flexible with your working hours as you would need to cover holidays for colleague on different shifts. Experience/a basic understanding of a construction related industry and experience of tender based estimating. Good PC skills and use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook, (training provided on in-house quotation system). Effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task effectively. Possess the ability to assess a situation, think reactively and provide solutionsBenefits
