Job Purpose and primary objectives:

Sr Power System Application Developer – Expert in power system modelling and simulation (including stability) in Digsilent (powerfactory) and its Python API

Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team):

You will be collaborating with our internal team and with the customer teams, which consist of an Power SME Product Owner, Scrum Master, Service Owner, Solution Architect and other Agile Devops teams.

Key responsibility as part of the role

• Develop and support power Application development solution for Transmission
• Understand the technical requirements on economic power dispatch and develop to-be solution
• Deploy the code into various environments
• Conduct code reviews and suggest improvements
• Work with Business SMEs, business analyst, and solution architects on day-to-day basis.

Key Skills Required

• Expert in power system modelling and simulation (including stability) in Digsilent (powerfactory) and its Python API.
• Or Expert in convex and mixed integer optimization and mathematical modelling with special focus on power system techno-economic assessment.
• Expert in Python programming and use cases in power system modelling and optimization.
• Experienced in using Git and version control.
• Good knowledge of heuristic techniques to optimize network assets.
• Good knowledge of signal processing in Python.
• Good knowledge on interpreting transmission system operation standards, codes, policy, and procedures.
• Good knowledge of power system economics.
• Good knowledge of data analytics, and visualization in Python.  

Supervisory/Managerial responsibilities (please specify if the position will have persons reporting to it):

Ability to handle team and guide them technically.

Able to manage the customer and stakeholders.

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and communicate project risks
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenges throughout the project development and successfully managing the customer expectations
