Job summary
We are looking for talented Software Developers/Engineers to join our Technology and Digital Services directorate. You will join around 150 passionate technologists that comprise HMLR’s Software Development Practice which is responsible for the development and maintenance of the critical software that powers both our internal systems and externally-facing services.

We are recruiting Software Development roles at HEO and SEO grades:
As a SEO Senior Software Engineer, you are the lead developer in a multidisciplinary agile delivery team. You are expected to provide expert technical direction to the team, balancing business requirements against essential maintenance activities and long-term technical strategy. You are a hands-on developer, who exemplifies best practice and promotes a culture of continuous improvement within your team and the wider Software Development Practice.
As a HEO Senior Software Developer, you work as part of a multidisciplinary agile delivery team. You are expected to provide insight and technical expertise, support the Senior Software Engineer in their role, and coach/mentor the wider team on day-to-day development activities. You are a hands-on developer, who exemplifies best practice and promotes a culture of continuous improvement within your team and the wider Software Development Practice.
Person specification
All roles require that you hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) or equivalent experience in an IT field.
In addition, you will have experience working as a software developer in an agile environment, building distributed web applications or Windows client/server applications using Java, Python, Delphi or PL/1 programming languages.
