CK Group are recruiting on an exclusive basis for a Senior Technical Manager to join a chemicals manufacturing company at their site based near Huddersfield on a full time, permanent basis. The Company:Our client prides themselves on being the UK’s largest privately owned manufacturer of industrial resins used for for floor finishes. The Senior Technical Manager will lead the Technical Department and provide support to all other departments. You will manage the QMS and QC activities, will be proactive in product development, and will also provide full support for customers. You will have circa 5 direct reports and you will manage a large formulation portfolio. The company offers a salary in the range of £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience along with a company car, pension, 23 days holiday and private health insurance. The company offers opportunities for progression and travel in this role. Location:The Senior Technical Manager will be based at the company’s site near Huddersfield, easily commutable from Halifax, Leeds, Bradford, Rochdale and surrounding areas.Your main duties will be to:

• Provide Technical leadership for team and wider company.
• Manage the formulation portfolio ensuring it remains complaint to all applicable regulations and legislation.
• Manage the raw material portfolio to ensure that there are viable alternatives available
• Drive innovation through new product development and having a thorough understanding of customer needs and market trends.
• Provide technical knowledge, production support, troubleshooting and advice to the organisation to ensure a high level of technical support is realised.
• Develop and maintain the ISO 9001 approved QMS and ensure both internal and external audits are completed successfully.
• Drive forward the ISO 14001 process.
• Manage the Quality Control department to provide full support to production and monitor non-conformances, trend analysis and driving corrective actions.
• Provide technical service to the company’s customer base, both on and off site with focus on prompt and effective resolutions.
• Liaise with production department regarding advice on methods of manufacture, planning and supervision of trial batches.
• Liaise with suppliers of raw materials and equipment to discuss project requirements and joint areas of work to be undertaken
• Represent the company at technical committee meetings.

Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

• Proven technical management experience in a relevant sector e.g. paints, resins etc.
• Knowledge of epoxies and PUs would be advantageous
• Familiar with formulation, development and testing of the sam
• Comfortable liaising with various stakeholders e.g. production, customers, etc.
• Happy to travel with work
• Good project management skills
