The client is a investment bank and one of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Description

Primary Responsibilities:

• To own, manage and enhance the operational and commercial performance of the Software Asset Management (SAM) database (SNOW) and ensure that the organisation remains compliant with respect to all computer software copyrights and adhere to the Terms & Conditions of any licence to which they are a party
• To perform analytical and requirements gathering work to determine the current state of software license management processes
• To maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, software resellers, and software manufacturers as appropriate
• To assist in the development and updating of policies that support the management and execution of software asset management, as well addressing existing redundancies or deficiencies related to Software Licensing
• To obtain license pricing information from vendors for additional products requested by internal stakeholders where required
• Provide technical or business related assistance regarding vendor software licensing procedures.

Principle Duties:

Work closely with the London based Vendor Manager and IT staff to review and update the Software Asset Management database (Snow) contracts from a current and historical perspective to identify and rectify any highlighted software compliance issues.

• Perform analytical and requirements gathering work in coordination with the stakeholders to determine the current state of software license management processes within the organisation
• Support and build on the formation of an appropriate model for licensing management and support
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, software resellers, and software manufacturers as appropriate
• Identify redundancies or deficiencies related to Software Licensing
• Provide support to stakeholders in response to questions concerning licensing agreements
• Provide where required, technical or business assistance regarding vendor software licensing procedures
• Track software license quantity and expiration to ensure compliance to avoid license agreement violations
• Incorporate software licences costs components to internal financial recharge mechanisms
• Track, maintain, and reconcile IT commodities inventory, leveraging asset management systems and tools (Snow)
• Engage Vendor Manager, Product Managers (Owners), Application Managers and IT to help collect, organize, and manage their licensed software assets.

Audit Responsibilities

• Generate and manage the SAM Audit Procedural documentation
• Ensuring NDA in place with 3rd parties where an audit is being undertaken
• Gather information from relevant sources (Oracle, vendor Portals, Snow etc.)
• Be the main interface between the auditors, IT and Vendor Management
• Control and manage the audit cycle through to successful completion
• Conduct regular internal “audits” to verify current position on specific software and ensure we are at a state of readiness.

Generation of MI for SAM activities

• Generate regular reporting to appropriate stakeholders to ensure business is kept up to date with their licence position
• Highlight potential risks and issues
• Cost/spend/budget analysis

Profile

Skills & Experience:

• Competent in Snow or a similar Software inventory system is essential
• Good demonstrable knowledge of SAM processes, Licensing and Commercials
• Ideally, conversant with Oracle Financials
• Familiar with complex licencing such as Microsoft
• Excellent Excel and Word Skills
• Experience with Power BI
• Good understanding and knowledge of 3rd party licensing portals
• Experience of software audits a plus
• Software Asset Management experience as well as experience in providing analytics
• Experience in customer service, preferably in a global organisation
• Experience in supplier management
• Knowledge of internal and external service providers’ organisations and their respective interfaces/Licensing portals
• Proven combined experience in developing data metrics, analytics, dashboards, complex queries
• The role holder will be expected to understand all aspects of the software life cycle – from licensing to purchasing to deployment to decommissioning.
• Willingness to learn on the job, in particular an interest in Market Data and associated licensing

Job Offer

A basic salary of up to £55,000 plus Bonus and excellent company benefits.
