Adecco Engineering are looking for a Supply Chain Manager for our client in South Wales who Design and Manufacture precision instrumentation solutions

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a great Supply Chain Manager to join the Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a rare new opening within the Leadership Team .
As a Supply Chain Manager, this role oversees and manages every stage of the production flow, from purchasing the raw materials to the delivery of the final product.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Create a World l Supply Chain to support the growth of the business.
* Work with buyers to source the right products and negotiate contracts with suppliers. Develop more strategic purchasing to realise further cost savings and reduce administration.
* Control manufacturing planning and delivery processes. Using ERP system – plan jobs and pick/move materials to meet demand based on capacity levels across teams.
* Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met
* Oversee product storage, handling and distribution ensuring robust and disciplined control of inventory to enable World Class customer service levels. Extensive use of strong visual controls
* Use computer software to track goods from origin to delivery
* Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analysing performance
* Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality
* Ensure you’re aware of exactly what is happening throughout the supply chain
* Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process
* Build strong supplier partnerships – less is more – working with Quality team to ensure no defects using Problem Solving methods to reach the root cause with Suppliers
* Manage and minimise the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain
* Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain in order to meet sustainability targets
* Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.
* Develop and coach team members so they are skilled in their roles, happy at work, and growing every day
* Drive the company’s culture of continuous improvement within the team
* Develop and drive use of Kanban for regular moving items
* Driven to learn and grow everyday in your daily actions and discussions
* Great systems in place in Supply Chain and in conjunction with upstream and downstream departments, Make systems scalable to allow for easy and un-stressful growth
Qualifications & Essential Criteria
* Degree level qualified
* Experience in a similar role within Manufacturing Environment preferably within Inventory/Planning
* Experience leading and motivating a team
* Strong organisational skills
* Strong IT skills
* Desire to always learn
