My client works within the Aerospace and Defence sector, and they are looking for talented Technical Authors to join their team.
Your primary responsibility will be to support their technical publications projects.
You will need to develop, research and revise various manuals and publications to Aerospace industry standards.
Due to the nature of this role, and the client base, It would be beneficial to have a degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or similar to better understand the technical requirements within role.
Role Responsibilities:
Writing documentation accurately and clearly.
Revise existing manuals and their technical content.
Coordinate all processes from start to finish
Review manufacturers information
Studying all available material and specifications in order to integrate technology, procedures, production and details.
You will be someone who has excellent written communication.
You should be really good at spell checking and correcting errors. You should be a versatile writer who can adapt your style to meet customer need.
You will manage a busy workload and should be able to prioritise different demands.
You should be dependable and follow management guidance. Quality and attention to detail are crucial to your workload whilst being able to deliver to deadline.
Technical Skills:
Competent in one or more of the following:
Microsoft Word, FrameMaker, Interleaf, SGML based desktop publishing software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related experience
Experience with S1000D, ATA2200 and/or MIL-SPEC specifications
Knowledge or experience of Arbor text editor or similar
Ability to write procedure manuals, technical manuals and service bulletins.
Great stakeholder communication, Familiarity of AECMA Simplified English
Competent with numeracy (using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
Problem solving capability.
