We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Technical Author.
Role Purpose/Day to Day:
The environment in which operates is subject to significant regulatory change – with major changes to the regulation governing model development, model usage and the way model risk is governed.
This has led to a significant volume of model redevelopments both to satisfy IRB-Repair requirements, which entered into force on 1 January 2022, but also to prepare the bank for the forthcoming Basel 3 reforms which are being implemented globally between 2023 and 2025.
The role will support senior management in ensuring that wholesale models and policies are appropriately assessed against existing, new, and forthcoming regulatory changes. That the assessments reflect the requirements of the regulations and are supported by evidence. This assessment will underpin new model submissions and the Group CRO’s annual attestation for live models.
The role holder would also be expected to work with the broader GRA Wholesale Credit Risk Function and other stakeholders to ensure that model standards and documentation are in-line with regulatory interpretation where these have potential to impact on the design or usage of wholesale models.
The role holder would be expected to support the development of model development guidelines/approach paper in respect of regulatory interpretations to ensure that model development are in-line with the latest view of regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience:
The skillsets/knowledge to fulfil this type of role would typically reflect individuals who have a strong background in policy writing. The subject matter is however evolving in response to both new regulation and feedback from the bank’s regulators therefore the role holder will therefore need to be constantly developing their knowledge in this area whilst maintaining a sound understanding of structures and products.
