This brilliant all-through SEN school based in Harrow are searching for an experienced Year 6 SEN Class Teacher, offering a permanent contract to start ASAP or September 2021.

The ‘all through’ SEN school provides excellent levels of education for pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, PMLD and speech, language, and communication difficulties.

The SEN school is going through an exciting phase of expansion, so would be an ideal place for an ambitious and experienced Year 6 SEN Class Teacher to thrive and to further their career for the longer-term as well.

Initial Skype or Zoom ‘getting to know you’ interviews can be arranged during the current COVID-19 situation. The Head Teacher is eager to keep the school’s longer-term needs in focus as much as possible throughout this period.

Year 6 Class Teacher – SEN Specialist – Main Roles and Responsibilities:

• To plan and to deliver outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable autistic young people to learn and to flourish
• Engage and motivate pupils
• To manage and to develop a small team of Teaching Assistants
• Experienced with behaviour management techniques
• Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, parents, and other professionals
• Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom

Year 6 Class Teacher – SEN Specialist – Person Specification

• Successful Year 6 SEN Class Teacher experience
• Being skilled in working with children with SEN, SEMH or ASD / ASC is essential
• A commitment to ongoing professional development
• Ambitious with true leadership potential
• A good team player with a sense of humour!
• UK QTS is essential
