Youth Support Worker Your role is to offer and provide the young people daily life skills such as cooking, budgeting, accessing education, training or employment, etc. What you’ll do: To support young people 16-17+ years old to develop independent skills. Support young people to stay healthy, safe, enjoy and achieve and economic well-being. You will be responsible in structuring weekly keywork sessions and monthly reports which are submitted to the placing authority Monitor young people ability to engage with everyday living and develop skills by supporting their identified needs. Support the young person to access local resources Support the young person in accessing education, training, or employment as well as supporting them with application form Encourage and support young people to access education, training, or employment Support the young person around budgeting money, grocery shopping, and and administer weekly subsistence allowance Encourage the young person to engage and take part in with positive activities within the community, building relationship and developing social networks Maintain accurate records/log keeping Maintain petty cash and receipts Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the accommodation Work with the manager to develop a structured programme of keywork sessions based on the young person’s individual support need. Promote safe, consistent, and understandable boundaries with the young person. Complete required paper/administration Work in partnership with other agencies and support young people to attend meetings with other professionals. You will attend admission and planning meetings Responsible for carrying out weekly health and safety checks within the accommodation Maintain confidentiality of young people Attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required You will occasionally take part and attend structured supervision sessions at least every 3 months This will be based around structured keywork sessions. These sessions will aim to promote the life skills of young people and support their transition into adulthood. What you need: Advantageous if you have experience in a OFSTED environment.
