Job Description Account Payable Officer The company SIVA is regarded throughout the industry as a top tier manufacturer, supplying many household names in the UK and internationally. We are a dynamic and fast-growing, Southampton-based, family-owned flexible packaging business with more than 40 years of manufacturing and trading history. Due to continued year-on-year growth, we are continuously recruiting. Objective: SIVA is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable officer based at our Woolston Site. Following several years of rapid expansion, the business is now preparing for the next phase of growth, which will be an exciting opportunity for those with the skills and aptitude to progress in their career. The candidate will ideally have worked in finance for a manufacturing business. The role Responsibility for managing company purchase ledger. Responsibility for reporting stock data and reconciliations. Accurate processing, coding, and matching of invoices in accordance with group policies. Liaising with suppliers to resolve invoicing queries in a professional manner, on a timely basis and to comply with statutory requirements. Liaising with procurement and commercial teams as necessary to resolve issues. Setting up new supplier accounts and upkeep of existing supplier account details. Assist with the preparation and setting up of creditor payment runs. Review of invoices on hold and clear in a timely manner. Perform supplier reconciliations monthly. Perform bank reconciliations using the accounting system. Supporting the finance team as required with ad-hoc tasks. Raising debit notes as necessary. Raising payments, updating cash book, and ensuring all payments are entered onto Sage on a timely basis.Advising of prepayments and accruals. Paid holiday entitlement 20 days (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. 1 extra day for each completed year of service up to 25 days max. Free in-house meal voucher on your birthday. Subsidised on-site canteen.On-site parking. The candidate Experience: 3 years +. Substantial experience of working within a busy payables / finance team. Manufacturing experience preferred. Accounting qualifications preferred, AAT, ACCA, CIMA. A solid understanding of accounting software principles (preferably Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 200 / Intacct Accounts). Strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Commitment to excellent customer service. Excellent IT skills (Excel, Word, MS365). Adept at learning new systems and IT skills. Desire to improve processes and make positive changes to ways of working. Self-starter, energy, and enthusiasm, with a bias for action. Someone who is keen to help support the team grow and change. Job type Full-time, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, based on site
