Hybrid role – 2 days a week in the office, 3 days a week at home. Please note – We’re unable to offer part time hours or sponsorship for this position. Overall Job Purpose The right candidate will get involved in all aspects related to Solvency II across Pillars I, II and III. The role will be mostly technical in nature with a focus on maintaining and developing the Solvency II model and producing Solvency II balance sheets for various purposes across the business. There will also be opportunities to get involved in other areas of the business such as risk management and various capital related projects. Accountabilities Quarterly and Annual Solvency II reporting: Our team is involved in all stages of the reporting at both a solo entity and group level – from producing and reviewing the results, performing the analysis of movement in the SII position, preparing the internal reporting pack and submitting QRTs to the PRA. This work is done in close collaboration with teams across to the Actuarial and Finance functions Model maintenance and development: Our team is accountable for maintaining the Solvency II valuation model and Identifying opportunities to improve the Prophet model and/or calculation process as well as testing any proposed changes Production of the 5-year solvency projections for the ORSA and the related Stress & Scenario testing calculations Assisting with risk appetite work, particularly assessing whether the SCR coverage risk appetite remains appropriate Assisting in the production of the ORSA report, SFCR and RSR Identifying capital and product opportunities through the use of analytics and actuarial modelling techniques and then measuring the financial impact of proposed changes, risks, and opportunities Analysing the risk profile and re-assessment of standard formula appropriateness Assisting with developing, monitoring, and reporting the company’s ALM strategy, including the use of derivatives Supporting the Chief Actuary in fulfilling the Actuarial Function s accountabilities (including drafting the actuarial function reports, keeping up to date with the experience investigations produced by the Actuarial Reporting team and any recommendations arising thereon, helping to produce supporting analyses related to technical provisions, and liaising with the pricing and reinsurance actuaries)Skills Required Actuarial student (approximately 8-10 exams completed) At least two years of work experience with exposure to the life insurance industry Ability to demonstrate Solvency II technical knowledge and experience with practical application Experience of Prophet (actuarial modelling software) Proficient in MS Office Excellent relationship building and communication skills both written and verbal Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal Ability to grasp concepts of a technical nature quickly Ability to develop a sound comprehension of the underlying business environment Good time management and ability to prioritise workload effectively Ability to multi-task, managing several projects concurrently Flexibility, ability to investigate and reconcile differences in outputs Positive approach and attitude to problem-solving Results driven and self-motivated Able to document work well Professional manner and organised About The Company Vitality is an award-winning, dynamic and vibrant financial services provider, with a ground-breaking vision for the future, where individuals are enabled to succeed and are rewarded and recognised for their contribution to our business.
