About this Role:
Excellent opportunity for an ambitious and highly motivated Assistant Site Manager, who is keen to progress up through the ranks with a busy regional main contractor. Initially to work on a new build blue light scheme which is well underway near Salisbury in Wiltshire.
Working with a Project Manager and Site Manager on site, you will be involved through the second half of this £8m new build scheme predominantly to focus on internal trades through from the bare shell onwards to finishing and handover at the end of the year.
Duties include: some client liaison, input to short-term programming of work, management and coordination of sub-contract trades, ensuring company standards for health and safety are adhered to throughout, quality assurance, coordination and progress meetings, issue resolution, snagging and handover.
Work is well underway on site, with external brickwork, cladding and roofing progressing and internals due to start in the next couple of months. This contractor has a good pipeline of future work in the Wiltshire / Hampshire area.
About the Company/Client/Project:
This south coast regional contractor has an annual turnover in around £30m in the Wiltshire / Hampshire, area, with scope of works including defence, blue light, education, leisure, extra care homes, commercial offices, etc. Project values are typically in the £5m to £12m range.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally degree qualified with a construction management or engineering degree, or from a trades background having made the move up into management, you will have gained some practical site experience to date.
You will possess basic contractual, commercial and technical construction knowledge, with the ability to plan ahead, organise short-term programs and coordinate the trades on site to meet quality standards and work to deadlines.
You will possess your CSCS supervisor card, and ideally SMSTS and First Aid qualifications.
