I’m currently looking for a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to work for a globally renowned professional services firm to work in an exciting role with international reach.

The role will involve being the conduit between Information Security and individual business units, reporting directly into the CISO and taking effective measures to embolden the strategic direction set out by the CISO.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a demonstrable track record in business facing security roles within large, complex organisations, and will finally have an enthusiastic and engaging personality to help with stakeholder relationship building and management.

Your new role will involve

• Assisting with the development and enforcement of security policies in line with the organisational risk strategy.
• Providing SME guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Overseeing various projects and programmes, managing resources, providing advisory works and overseeing the maintenance of secure by design
• Understanding your assigned business units, who they face off to and how these units work together
• Facing off to various business units, reporting on contemporary threats and trends in non-technical language to illustrate potential risks
• Taking an active involvement with allocating funding for inserting security into projects and programmes.
• Contributing to security awareness across all areas of the business
• Ensuring the consistent application of security standards across the whole function to ensure the security landscape does not fracture
• Working alongside business partners, weighing in on the implications of their decisions from a security perspective and influencing stakeholders to remain within the confines of the current organisational risk appetite
• Ensuring that security policies are developed and maintained in line with CISO requirements
• Driving process improvement across all realms of security

What you’ll need to succeed

• Equivalent experience in a BISO/Senior Security Business Partner role
• Excellent communication skills and strong examples of excellent stakeholder engagement
• SME experience
• A hybrid of technical and information security focused understanding to ensure that technical strategies and policies remain in line with organisational risk appetite, and to ensure you’re able to monitor and flag breaches of risk appetite
• Experience managing funding allocations for projects and business units
• Strong experience building and maintaining relationships with wider business units
• Strategic problem solving ability
• Experience engaging with C-Suite, reporting on organisational security and contemporary findings about industry risk
