MERJE is working with a large savings and retirement business who are looking for a Business Lead to front a team of project resources on the Accounting & Reporting workstream – part of the IFRS 17 programme. A hybrid working contract opportunity based in Birmingham, this role will report into the Director of Finance Reporting, Operations & Analysis.
Key Accountabilities as a Business Lead:
Lead a team of SMEs and deliver solutions/ milestones on the IFRS 17 programme
Drive development and delivery of implementation plans
Drive embedding of operating model and changes to business systems, processes, reporting calendar and controls
Oversee the design & monitoring of appropriate quality assurance controls and provide challenge to reporting team ensuring the accuracy & validity of the financial information under IFRS 17
Effectively communicate IFRS 17 results and outcomes to a wide group of stakeholders
Skills, knowledge, and experience required as a Business Lead:
Strong technical and operational skills within a financial services organisation – preferably a life insurer
Leadership – drive colleagues to outcomes whilst holding them accountable for delivery. Ability to lead and motivate teams
Stakeholder management – be able to influence outcomes and engage with senior business leaders and programme sponsors
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive knowledge of finance operational and reporting processes (10+ years)
