Our client is a leading Utilities organisation in the North. You will form part of a dynamic, close knit team and every day will look different. Working across a huge range of suppliers, with varied buying categories and a considerable spend responsibility. Contract negotiation is key, and so my client is looking for a strong negotiator, that thrives from working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities:
Providing advice, guidance and support to drive compliance and increase commercial awareness
Support and challenge stakeholders to define procurement needs that align with current and future business demand
Undertake basic financial analysis to inform historic expenditure, off contract expenditure, budgets and future demand
Identify and deliver short to medium term sourcing solutions that manage/mitigate supply chain and contractual risk on behalf of the business
Prepare and present for approval contract threshold contracts and commercial recommendations
Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise engagement and support
Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work, ensuring compliance with relevant company policies at all times
Look for ways to improve the running of the procurement function through automation and simplifying work-flows
Manage and maintain all key tender and business unit reporting obligations as required.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Understanding of relevant legislation in Procurement and tendering
Used a P2P system such as SAP before (preferred)
Experience working for a large brand, ideally within the Utilities, Defence, Aerospace, FMCG or Tech space.
This role requires you to attend the office once a week.
