An excellent opportunity to lead the Capital Works team at Broxtowe Borough Council and all activities in relation to programmes of planned workstreams, to provide efficient and effective council housing and public building improvement services in the Nottinghamshire area.

Broxtowe Borough Council serves Beeston Stapleford, Kimberley and Eastwood and surrounding areas, and holds a range of asset classes in its portfolio, 4,500 social housing units, operational properties, a large part of Beeston Town Centre including a recently-completed cinema & restaurant development, business premises and corporate offices.

Description

The role of the Capital Works Manager will involve the development and operations of all capital works activities for the Council. You will work closely with the Head of Asset Management to maintain and operate partnership working with various stakeholders, including tenants, building users, contractors, consultants, external agencies and the voluntary sector to ensure the best possible outcome for the Council’s service provision.

You will lead in the procurement of capital works, including consideration of form/type of procurement, liabilities, payment mechanisms/incentivisation, selection of contractors/partners, preparation of contract documentation, supervision, workmanship and certification.

The successful candidate will hold a number of duties in relation to the delivery and maintenance of capital works, including budget management, performance, stock condition, H&S and aids and adaptations.

Profile

• Previous experience in a Social Housing/Local Authority environment, delivering planned works programmes or repairs operations across mid to large scale projects
• Management experience of construction teams including performance reviews, KPI management and ensuring works are delivered on time and in budget
