A MAT is looking to add a Part Time Caretaker to their growing team in Newton Abbot Your new roleHays are seeking an organised and self-motivated individual to provide a high standard of premises maintenance. You will be required to organise and carry out both planned & reactive maintenance at the site ensuring compliance with both regulatory & health & safety standards. The primary purpose of the Site Caretaker is to maintain the properties to a high level to ensure the buildings are kept in optimum working condition.What you’ll need to succeedYou should be able to demonstrate general working skills in carpentry, fixing locks, electrical, plumbing, drainage, painting and decorating. As the Site Caretaker you will be part of our essential Estates Team ensuring that our buildings are maintained to a high quality and kept in a safe working condition. A good working knowledge/understanding of the challenges of maintaining an educational setting would be beneficial. You must also be able to pass strict DBS screening procedures due to the environment you will be working.What you’ll get in return

• 5 weeks holiday
• Sick pay is 1 month paid, 1 month half pay per year of service up to 6 months.
• Recruitment and retention is a bonus paid following successful period of induction and move to permanent position subject to T&Cs.

• Part Time 20 hours per week
• 5 days a week – Term time from 14:30 – 18:30. In non term time, the hours change to daytime hours, typically from 08:30 – 12:30. (Can be flexible on this)
• £11.59 – £12.93 p/h
