Salary: £10.42 per hour

The Role:

To work as part of the Manor School Sports & Leisure Centre in delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining excellent leisure facilities, and assisting with sports development initiatives.

Primary Purpose of Role:

• In conjunction with and/or in the absence of the Sports Centre Manager (SCM) and Duty Manager, undertake Duty Manager duties including management of the day-to-day operations of the Leisure Centre.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure the Leisure Centre is in a good state of repair, reporting any faults.
• To be coherent with the booking systems for all facilities within the Leisure Centre, to include 3G pitch, outdoor pitches/courts, sports hall, main hall, dance studio, classrooms/conference rooms and associated activities such as birthday parties and one off events.

• Assist in the delivery on holiday clubs

• Undertake reception duties and deal with customer and general enquiries; take bookings and payments in accordance with Centre procedures.
• Set up/dismantle sports equipment as required by users.
• To ensure the highest possible customer service standards are implemented for all users and visitors to the centre.
• Take responsibility for building security including opening and locking up as required. • Be aware of health and safety requirements and ensure the building is safe and in a good state of repair, reporting any faults or repairs.
• Escort gym members to and from reception, during the school day, to comply with safeguarding procedures.

Knowledge, Experience and Training:

Required:

• Good general level of education including Maths and English to GCSE/O Level standard or equivalent.
• Motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Ability to lead and also work as part of a team.

• To have an understanding of ‘sports development’ and event management.
• The ability to provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Hold or be willing to immediately undertake level 2 gym instructing (REPs) which will form part of the contract
• A reliable and enthusiastic individual with a flexible approach to work and willingness to work unsocial hours.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Full First Aid at Work qualification or willingness to undertake First Aid training. Desirable:
• Previous experience in a similar role, working with young people and/or knowledge of a school
