Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a successful, stable and growing Manufacturing business in Hull to find their Category Manager.This role sits as part of a new team of 5 Category Managers. You’ll take ownership for purchasing direct raw and pre-assembled materials, managing your assigned category’s products, as well as developing a good understanding of the whole team’s supplier agreements, giving you a wide exposure to the Procurement function.What’s on offer?: Flexible start and finish times The option for HYBRID working (3 days in the office) from around the 6-month mark £40,000 (could stretch to £42,000 for the right level of experience) Study Support for various qualifications such as CIPS A close connection with the Top 30 Under 30 – two team members are already recognised as such and benefiting from the training offered by the schemeThis highly supportive team is headed up by a Leader who is truly passionate about career progression, rewarding success, flexibility, and who recognises hard work. You’ll also manage an experienced Category Analyst, ensuring ERP (SAP) system data is to the highest integrity, e.g. Countries of Origin, Commodity Codes, Purchase Price, Standard Costs.You will be pivotal in supporting the Senior Category Manager in supplier negotiations and KPI setting, solution building for existing contracts, day-to-day sourcing of new suppliers and profiling new products.As the economic climate changes for this industry, you’ll have the opportunity to be a core member of the project team, sourcing new materials for all NPI ventures.This really is a fantastic position for someone who is either wanting to progress their career through the Procurement route, or someone who is perhaps towards the end of their career and wants a step back and to offer their expertise to this fantastic business. Either way, the following attributes are what will make a successful application: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally fast paced Previous experience as Buyer or Category Manager for Direct raw material sourcing A driven, enthusiastic individual who is willing to put the hard work in and be rewarded for it Knowledge of SAP ideal but not essential.
