THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Functional Safety Engineer to join our Assisted and Automated Driving team, forming part of Digital Product Platform (DPP) Tech Centre of JLR. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering safety-critical software and hardware solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). You will be responsible for leading and managing the ADAS functional safety team and ensuring the safety and reliability of all software and hardware components that are powering our next generation of vehicles. As a Chapter Lead you will be responsible for leading and managing a group of engineers in a hybrid, Agile and collaborative way across multiple global sites. You will be responsible for supporting the growth of current and future skills within the Chapter, helping engineers to master their skills and reach their full potential when operating in agile squads. You will navigate from strategy to delivery of business value to problem solving.

?WHAT TO EXPECT
Key Responsibilities:
Work with Product Owners and key stakeholders to ensure Functional Safety deliverables are met
Drive the usage of standardised Functional Safety practices and processes
Support Chapter Heads and Leads to deliver strategic Functional Safety vision
Take a leading role in developing the Functional Safety community Body of Knowledge and best practices
Provides technical guidance and mentoring to Functional Safety Chapter members
Accountable for providing open and effective communication channels for Chapter Members to collaborate
Functional Safety Technical Leadership in AAD

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential:
Customer first mindset who is easy to do business with and makes people feel special in their day-to-day role
Extensive knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety processes, methods, tools, and their use in the design of complex systems
Experience in delivering and developing Safety Critical Systems at Software and Hardware level in compliance with ISO 26262 standard
Ability to lead and coordinate Safety Critical Processes into product development processes
Ability to lead and coordinate Functional Safety activities and delivery in accordance with ISO 26262
Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into emerging safety trends and state of the art safety solutions
Excellent communication, ability to effectively explain and communicate complex ideas
Ability to lead, coach, and manage the needs of a highly operational and distributed team
Proven ability to build effective relationships within the company and externally
Natural Team Player
