A market-leading fuel cell development business based in Guildford is currently recruiting a Contract Chemical Engineer to join its team on a permanent basis. As Chemical Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing next-generation clean energy solutions – whilst also having the ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team.
Contract Chemical Engineer responsibilities
Definition of P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagram)
Designing prototypes/products in our team
Components sizing, selection and validation of balance of plant components.
Ordering components
Adapt products/systems for testing.
Manipulation of files in Solidworks and working together with our Mechanical Eng team.
Support during the testing of prototypes.
Create comprehensive test reports.
Help in the definition and delivery of world-class fuel cell systems/products both with air-cooled and liquid-cooled technology.
Develop innovative and novel concepts with high-value IP while considering freedom to operate.
Contract Chemical Engineer requirements
Degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering or closely related.
Experience and strong working knowledge of mass and heat transport.
Strong background in statistics and working with highly technical data.
Develop innovative and novel concepts with high value IP while considering freedom to operate.
Used to running projects in terms of timing, financials, and budget control
Experience of managing teams in an industrial environment whilst working to strict safety and quality standards
Self-motivated, flexible, well organised and possess analytical skills.
