Murphy & Sons are enhancing our track delivery capability and are interested to hear from candidates able to confidently take on a Track Contractor s Responsible Engineer Construction, CRE (C), role across our North West and Central region ideally located at either our Golborne or Cannock offices. The CRE Track role will play a pivotal part in the successful development and implementation of the portfolio of renewals works. During the development stage your particular focus will be on influencing design organisations to develop designs that can be built efficiently and safely. During the construction phases you will oversee the engineering and construction teams, ensuring the works are built right first time. What you will be doing Regular liaison with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build, install, test, and commission Input into the Project Execution Plan to document the planned construction methodologies Approval of detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams e.g. WPP / TBS / RA s Approval of inspection and test plans / commissioning plans produced by the project teams Review submissions for quality and completeness Reviewing the construction programme for completeness and integration with other disciplines Mentoring team members Managing engineers to ensure Critical Rail Temperatures and Track Monitoring is recorded and reported. Ensuring Track Handback Engineers complete Form A-G accurately Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and sub-contractors Who we are looking for A proactive engineering manager who can coordinate and resolve challenges between interfacing disciplines and specialist contractors. Managing Form A and B design development in coordination with Design Consultants NR/L2/RSE/02009 Engineering Assurance Process Critical Rail Temperature Management Track Monitoring Plans Design and Construction of Plain Line, Switches & Crossings, Track Bed and Formation, Track Drainage and UTXs. Managing ESRs and TSRs The right candidate will have the following attributes: Previous CRE Construction approved (or similar) Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other design-based software such as AutoCad BEng, MEng or similar engineering qualification Engineer with membership of professional institute (PWI / ICE etc.) or nearing obtaining achievement of membership PTS Track Handback Engineer (Desirable)
