Funeral Service Team Member

Monday – Friday 8:30 – 16:30 (must be available to work on an on-call rota working weekends/evenings every 4-6 weeks)

£21,700 + on call allowance

I am currently recruiting for a funeral service team member working for a well known funeral directors based in Burgess Hill. They are looking for someone to be well presented, efficient, empathetic and helpful in all manners concerned with the provision of funeral services and customers and maintaining the reputation of the business at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Attendance at funerals, including driving vehicles and bearing coffins on the shoulderRemoval of the person who has died from their place to the companies premises in a dignified manner and providing care to the person who has diedAttend sudden deaths on behalf of coroners and convey the person who has died to a public or hospital mortuary both daytime and out of hoursEnsure immaculate appearance of company vehiclesChecking and maintaining the mortuary registerCollection and preparation of coffins prior to funeralsTo maintain office cover when neededKeeping all premises clean and tidy such as mortuary areas, preparation rooms, temperature-controlled environmentsTo have a professional and caring approachA team player willing to be part of the out of hours removal teamPosses the emotional strength and resilience required to work with the person who has died in a variety of circumstances whilst maintaining calm, mature and compassionate for their families and loved ones.

You are required to be of smart appearance at all times and have a full clean drivers licence.
