Role – Data Solution Architect
Package – £80,000 + £6k car + 10% bonus
Location – Any office across the UK circa 1-2 month on site
A national company within the renewable energy space are looking for a talented Data Solutions Architect to lead the designing of their target data architecture.
You will be responsible for defining strategy, designing, and overseeing the implementation of complex IT solutions.
As a Data Solution Architect you will lead designing work across Datamodelling, data governance, data integration, data pipelines and visualisation. You will design solutions across on-prem and cloud platforms.

Job Purpose:
* Establish and enforce principles and requirements for their data architecture, ensuring solution compliance.
* Define data platform capabilities aligned with current and future business models.
* Drive incremental evolution of enterprise data governance strategy.
* Manage enterprise data map, including logical model, lineage, and transmission details.
* Create comprehensive technical documentation for proposed technology solutions.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business needs are met.
* Catalogue, coordinate, and apply architecture models within Enterprise Architecture Framework.
* Engage with suppliers for solution requirements and technology selection.
Key Responsibilities:
* Foster a unified view of data assets across the entire organisation.
* Ensure architecture designs align with their technical strategy, principles, and standards.
* Collaborate closely with Architecture practice members and Domain Architects to review and approve Solution Architecture approaches and options.
* Participate in Architecture and Governance Forums to conduct reviews of architecture and design activities.
* Accountable for delivering high-quality architectural artefacts that clearly explain the technical strategy and decisions.
* Provide guidance and support for performance tuning, troubleshooting, cost optimisation, and implementation challenges.
* Stay updated on evolving demands of modern data platform architecture, including structured and unstructured data, batch and streaming flows, and machine learning requirements.
* Manage the IT Data roadmap, investment, and implementation plan, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
* Drive data environment rationalisation to standardise, streamline, and simplify the landscape.
* Act as the focal point for Data Solution Architecture internally and in communication with their Group.
* Assist the Principal Solution Architect in developing and implementing an effective Enterprise Architecture Practice.
Key Relationships:
* Close collaboration with Principal Solutions Architect, other Domain Architects, IT Business Partners, Business Analysts, and Delivery team members.
* Regular interaction with Head of Technical Data Services.
* Collaboration with their Group Data Architects and Shared Line of Service (SLS) teams.
* Work with UK BU IT Senior Management team.
* Part of the their One IT Team spanning all their Group entities.
* Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience as an IT Data Architect, designing enterprise-wide Data solutions for global organisations.
* Experience in designing solutions using at least one public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, GCP.
* Strategic thinker with knowledge of architecture governance and building blocks.
* Ability to develop and validate architecture roadmap, vision, and solution designs.
* Knowledge of current and future technologies and their impact on organisations, including infrastructure, enterprise applications, and integration services.
* Experience in logical and physical Datamodelling for transactional and analytical systems.
* Practical experience with ETL tools.
* Proficiency in data pipelines using Python and ability to define best practices and standards.
* Familiarity with AWS data technologies (eg, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, Glue).
* Understanding of BI tools such as Power BI, QuickSight, SAP Business Objects.
* Experience working in an agile development environment.
* Strong technical acumen for identifying trends and opportunities to support business transformation.
