Design Engineer Mechanical and Piping Starting Salary £39,291 Up to 10% bonus Car allowance £6,500 Permanent contract Thorpe Park or Doxford Park We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer Mechanical & Piping to join the team. You will work within a small team of engineers providing design services to the Capital Projects delivery function within NGN. This will include the production of design services tender documentation, Option Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies and Detailed Designs for all Mechanical and Piping related work on our Network Assets and ensuring early G17 part sign off where applicable. You will also be required to review and approve design documentation and design changes which have been produced by external consultants and other team members. Where required, you will produce cost estimates for design scopes and support the preparation of business cases for sanction of the required investment. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Production of mechanical and piping design packs, calculations, scopes of works. Data sheets, equipment schedules, MTO s, Activity Schedules, etc • Contribute to HAZID, HAZOP and HAZCON studies and auditing of the Mechanical and Piping function • Manage Mechanical and Piping design projects within time and budget constraints and report progress as required by the Capital Projects IMS • Assist on all CAPEX projects with Value Engineering studies, Design TQ s, Lessons Learned Reviews • Produce reverse engineered design packs and G17 documentation for any legacy project work found not to be fully compliant • Liaise with 3rd parties to ensure compliance of the full design pack What we are looking for • Ideally you will be an Incorporated Engineer, with membership of UK professional body • Degree qualified in a related engineering discipline or equivalent • Fully conversant with software packages such as MS Office, AutoCAD & 3D Plant • UK Driver s License • Completed formal training in IGEM standards • SHEA Passport, SCO Training What we offer you • A competitive starting salary from £39,291 per annum • Up to 10% bonus (depending upon achievement of set targets) • Car allowance £6,500 and free onsite parking • 40 hours per week • 25 days annual leave (plus recognised bank holidays and 2 half days over the Christmas period) • SSP for first 7 calendar days then occupational sick pay • A generous stakeholder 5/10% pension scheme • Flexible benefits and salary sacrifice options from discounts on a variety of UK attractions, gym membership, restaurant discounts, experience days and exclusive NGN discounts and much more! • An array of fantastic family friendly policies such as 6 weeks paternity leave (for eligible employees) and 6 months full pay for employees on maternity leave (for eligible employees), as well as shared parental leave and many more We are Northern Gas Networks.
