Would you like the opportunity to work alongside the newly appointed Head of Sustainability for Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) in helping to shape and drive the ESG agenda across our businesses in the UK, Germany, the Islands (Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man) and the US?

You ll facilitate origination efforts for our Capital and Financial Markets businesses within LBCM as we engage with clients and investors, ensuring the bank provides the best possible funding solutions, meeting clients ESG funding needs. This will involve innovation and the development of the ongoing pipeline of commercially and ethically sustainable finance propositions.

You ll help ensure that LBCM is fully engaged with sustainability and responsible business teams across LBG and with relationship managers in our Corporate & Institutional Banking division. You re responsibilities will include:

• Focus on partnering the Capital and Financial Markets product teams and our relationship management teams to develop sustainability strategies relevant to individual sectors and individual clients.
• Own the successful origination and execution of opportunities developed from client and market conversations.
• Provide clients with strategic insight and commercial solutions to develop their overall ESG / transition strategy; embedding ESG considerations into the investment process and support with framework drafting and external verification; helping clients set, achieve, and maintain ESG ratings.
• Identify ESG product-related risks and work with others to formulate and implement controls and other measures to maintain products through their lifecycle.
• Support efforts to ensure effective governance capability having confidence to challenge constructively and work with any local regulators in an open and collaborative manner. Effectively identify, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
• Develop a strong network of internal partners on ESG across all levels of the organization to prioritise activity and ensure appropriate SMEs are engaged.
• Partner with the Sustainability and ESG Finance team to support the delivery of comprehensive sustainability solutions to corporate and institutional clients.
• Build/maintain your own and others expertise in sustainability and awareness of competitor activity, emerging themes and regulatory developments.
• Develop ESG thought-leadership for LBCM working alongside colleagues elsewhere in Lloyds Banking Group in the creation of marketing materials and pitch-books for LBCM products.
• If required, support interactions with regulators and policy makers on ESG topics that impact LBCM.

What you ll need:

Overall, you ll need to be a self-starter with a passion for ESG and a personal aim to use your skills for good. We re also looking for you to have:

• Consistent record of originating and delivering both traditional and sustainability linked or green financings.
• In-depth knowledge of Green & Sustainability Linked Loan Principles, Green Sustainable and Social Bond Principles, UN Sustainable Development Goals, Climate Bonds Initiative, EU Taxonomy, TCFD, and other major ESG Regulations.
• A track record in one of these areas (i) sustainability in the built environment (ii) energy markets (iii) carbon or energy transition advisory (iv) ESG ratings or sustainable finance frameworks (v) natural capital (vi) social value and social impact (vii) legal and regulatory environments.
• A growth approach that is solutions focused with well cultivated business judgement and high ethical and professional standards.
• A highly developed desire for continual growth and development in own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development as well as supporting the development and capability build of other colleagues and the wider business.
