Job overview We are looking to recruit an Early Careers Engagement Manager to join our Organisational Development Team to support the growth and development of our early careers offer within SCW. As part of this role, you ll have the opportunity to lead on designing, shaping, and implementing our work experience, internships/placements and other SCW experience pathways. In this role you will be promoting our Early Careers Offer across mainly the Southeast and Southwest of England. The successful candidate will report into SCW s Early Career and Volunteering Manager and will also be involved in supporting projects such as our Armed Forces Group, which we intend to offer experience of SCW in the form of insights and work experience. For this role, we re looking for someone that is keen to make an impact and inspire the future. In the role you will be working with a range of internal and external stakeholders and therefore you ll need to be a great communicator and influencer. You ll need to have experience in post 16 options and experience in managing projects/programmes. Main duties of the job Create and build upon SCW s work experience offer across our locations. This includes work experience for learners in school and beyond, such as returners to work and service leavers from the armed forces Develop and enhance our offer to University students other than our successful graduate scheme. To include internships, placements and taster sessions Work collaboratively in SCW, working closely with our service lines to develop entry routes and design the offer collaboratively to meet service line and SCW requirements Create networks and relationships with schools/colleges/educational settings, ensuring we have a clear communications plan and an events calendar for the year ahead Develop partnership networks outside of the educational setting, for example DWP/Local Authorities, Charities etc Project manage all aspects of work experience, internships, taster sessions. Working collaboratively with service lines in the organisation to provide resource to support our offer. Working for your organisation The successful candidate will work in our Internal Organisational Development Team, you will report into Early Careers and Volunteering Manager. Our team of 10 is spread across England, however we feel it s important to connect regularly, so we have weekly team check ins and regular online meetings and try to meet every 2 3 months in person. We are a friendly and supportive team that works hard to provide support and services to over 1,500 employees in SCW. SCW already runs a successful graduate programme, and we provide internships and apprenticeship opportunities. This Summer we are starting to pilot our work experience offer in 3 locations, the successful candidate will be responsible to lead in this area and to grow our offer across our locations. The role will be hybrid, there will be times when you need to travel for team meetings or potentially to career events across the S East and S West. We have a number of offices across the region including Bristol, Reading, Eastleigh and Kent. Detailed job description and main responsibilities 1. Review our current offer of work experience and review against the market. This might include undertaking some focus groups internally and externally. Produce a report and recommendations to enhance our offer in line with our SCW business needs. 2. Work collaboratively with service lines and stakeholders in SCW to gain a thorough understanding of their future workforce needs. Explore opportunities for service lines to support our objective of enabling careers in SCW and provide the service lines with the benefits on how this help address the needs of their workforce plans 3. Present and communicate across stakeholders in SCW. Including all workforce, senior managers, and Senior Leadership Team. The role requires someone that is clearly able to inform, influence, engage, negotiate and manage difficult conversations. 4. Create a clear work experience package, including a clear outline of the process from the candidate and SCW perspective. This will include working closely with stakeholders in SCW to ensure that we create a consistent, fair and easily accessible package. This will include recruitment, marketing, service lines and Governance and ensuring we are inclusive and enable social mobility. 5. Source and procure any provision for our packages that might be external to SCW. This will require working in collaboration with SCW procurement team and adhering to policy 6. Build an infrastructure to support the development of the early career schemes to ensure we have the capacity internally and externally to support the programmes we will be running. 7. Provide support and training to managers and teams that will be participating to ensure they follow process and provide a quality offer that is consistent across SCW. 8. Responsible for the integration of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion within our early career offer 9. Create an awareness campaign across our regional locations and possibly nationally depending on the business needs. This will include working in collaboration with marketing, our partners, networks and educational institutions across the UK. 10. Produce a calendar of engagement. Leading on the planning and resourcing of all events, ensuring that all events are resourced with the right representation from SCW and managed effectively
