Early Years Reception Teacher Position

Looking for an opportunity as an experienced Early Years teacher in a ‘Good’ primary school located in Selly Oak, Birmingham?

The headteacher and MAT leads are actively seeking an accomplished Early Years Foundation Stage teacher with QTS. This exciting position is available for immediate commencement on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Reception class, with a contract spanning the entire academic year, and the potential for a permanent position. An attractive salary, exceeding the main pay scale, will be offered based on experience.

The ideal Early Years Teacher candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Demonstrable recent experience in teaching within the EYFS, including relevant PGCE placements (for NQTs).
• A solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
• Proficiency in employing effective strategies to accommodate and meet the needs of all pupils, including those who may be underachieving, as well as students with SEN and EAL Familiarisation.
• Familiarity with curriculum and pedagogical aspects pertaining to learning and teaching.
• The ability to monitor, assess, document, and report student progress in accordance with school policies, utilising this information to shape future planning.
• A flexible work approach, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills that can inspire and motivate others.

Key responsibilities of this Early Years Teacher role include:

• Assuming responsibility for teaching a class of Reception children aged 4-5 years.
• Managing the social and academic progress of students, while meticulously tracking the individual development of each child through their personalised Learning Journals.
• Creating comprehensive weekly plans encompassing the seven areas of learning.

Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
