Job Description: Electrical Engineer (6-Month Contract)

Company Overview: Our client is a leading company in the Clean Energy sector, specializing in sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. Based near Guildford, they are at the forefront of technological innovation in the renewable energy industry. They are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. The role offers a combination of hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement for on-site presence.

Position Summary: As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for clean energy projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful delivery of renewable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project team to develop electrical system specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Design and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams for clean energy projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate electrical system performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Perform detailed calculations to determine electrical loads, voltage drops, and power distribution requirements.
• Support the procurement process by reviewing and assessing electrical equipment and components, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with electrical design specifications and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Assist in the commissioning and testing of electrical systems, ensuring functionality and safety.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical and civil engineers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in clean energy and electrical engineering.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and PCB layout principles.
• Product development skills: DFMEA, DFMA, tolerance analysis, GD&T.
• Proven experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the clean energy or renewable energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including power distribution, protection, and control.
• Proficiency in electrical engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as IEC, NEC, or IEEE.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex electrical systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Flexibility to work on-site as required and willingness to travel to project sites.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6-month contract.
• Location: Based near Guildford, with a requirement for on-site presence.
• Work arrangement: Hybrid working, combining remote work and on-site presence as necessary.
• Hourly rate/salary: To be discussed based on qualifications and experience.
