End User Compute Manager Primarily take the responsibility for managing our End user estate, ensuring that all client related hardware and software is fully and professionally tested meeting business standards and compliance before being released into the live environment. This implies full end to end life cycle management and supporting all business goals in delivery, road maps, security and compliance. Some accountabilities of the role: Accountable for testing all client devices (Desktops, Laptops, PEDs etc) before they are deployed on TP network to ensure they are fit for purpose, cost effective and secure. Testing covers the hardware and the software used on the devices including the operating system. Ensure that all software deployments (new packaged apps, app updates, OS patches etc) have been thoroughly tested and result in no incidents being raised Ensure the estates anti-virus tools are up to date and are fit for purpose. Define a 3 year rolling client hardware/software roadmap in conjunction with architecture that evolves with users needs and represents great value for TP. Ownership of the client catalogue ensuring appropriate devices are available for user needs. Manage the lifecycle of devices testing and add new ones to the catalogue as needed Accountable for the asset management policies and processes of both hardware and Software i ensure TP are getting maximum value from their investments and Licences and are compliant. Accountable for the IT Store room making sure stock is checked in/out consistently and the site is secure. Ensure we are holding only the needed stock and look for opportunities to re-use stock where possible. Build a plan to transition this storeroom to work with 3rd party providers in order to save the business costs. Accountable for the core directory services (Active Directory) to ensure that the agreed standards are maintained for all client devices. Support projects where needed if changes to the client environment are required. Look for opportunities to replace legacy client devices with solutions from Google using ChromeOS devices and Android. Highlight the benefits of these in regards to user experience, easier manageability and lower total cost of ownership for TP. Accountable for the transition of any new client hardware/software into the TP estate ensuring that all support implications are covered and both internal and external support teams are signed up to relevant SLA/OLAs Ensure that all members of the team have clear objectives and are being measured against them.
