My client is known globally in over 30 countries, and they are offering an exciting opportunity to bring on an Engineering Manager on a permanent basis in Derbyshire. The organisation specialises in designing bespoke energy saving products aimed to reduce carbon footprint. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced mechanically bias engineer to join a rapidly growing industry with loads of room for growth and development.
The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
Knowledge/Experience of Mechanical Engineering
Engineering Qualification (BEng, MEng, BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or something similar)
Minimum of 2 years managing experience in a similar field
Understanding of ISO compliance and the ability to conduct internal audits would be desirable
Experience designing heavy industrial equipment would be beneficial
Ability to design products from initial concept through to manufacture
Excellent 3D CAD skills – (Solidworks, Inventor or Electrical CAD software)
Good understanding of costed BoMs and what is required from the BoM to drive the business on Cost & Supply
The Engineering Manager duties involve:
Providing leadership and mentorship to all members of the engineering teams to deliver the below.
Maintaining and improving the working environment in terms of H&S and HR, this may include but not limited to safety awareness, performance and attendance management.
Managing teams to ensure an efficient and coherent approach to all engineering activities across value streams of the business and the following disciplines:
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Design Engineering
New product design and development
Bills of Materials
Project management on existing and new projects
Ensuring that all teams design to the same standard and incorporate techniques such as design for manufacture, design for assembly, costed BoMs ect.
