Engineering Manager – Capitol Projects – £92k per annum – up to 36% Bonus – Cambridge – 5x Life Insurance – up to 16.5% Employer Pension Contribution Yolk Recruitment are working with a Global Leader of Sustainable Technologies who are leading the way in Hydrogen Fuel Cells, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee Multi Million Pound Projects. The Engineering Manager must assign, lead, and develop engineering and projects capability at a site level to deliver capability and succession planning. The Engineering Manager ensure that the business has a strong engineering team that can lead early-stage investment planning and assure engineering and capital projects competence across the site. The role leads the site Process Safety technical function and will ensure the continual reduction of risk in the operation of our processes. The job holder will play a key role in assessment of tolerable risk and will ensure that the senior leadership are appropriately informed of the current risks within the operating field. Responsibilities: Safety, Environment & Sustainability Actively lead and promote a positive safety culture across engineering and capital projects Ensure all work is carried out safely through the application of EHS and sustainability policy Establish and drive improvement in clear and measurable safety and environmental indicators, to deliver upper quartile performance on safety outcomes throughout the site-based project portfolio Ensure comprehensive energy management, carbon impact & utility cost reduction plans are developed & implemented with specific sustainability targets agreed Continually reduce the risk of a significant Process Safety event through the implementation of a structured PSM process Site Engineering & Technology Capability Lead delivery of diverse engineering operational improvements in line performance, compliance & standards Deliver Engineering Excellence programme for the site and ensure cost efficiency is delivered through LEAN methodologies. Lead the sites Asset Integrity Management to ensure that the people, systems, processes and resources which deliver the integrity, are in place, in use and fit for purpose over the whole lifecycle of the assets. Build engineering organisational capability in the business that is coherent with and complements central engineering capability Support business Project Sponsors in developing the business case for major projects and other opportunity shaping work required in the Idea Stage to support Stage Gate 1 submission, working with the Major Projects Initiation & Development Lead and central project functional leads as required Site/Manufacturing Engineering/Technical Support Lead major manufacturing problem resolution typically associated with supply interruptions and/or marketed product action, applying root cause analysis, design of experiments, and CAPA effectiveness trending Ensure EHS Critical Roles within the Engineering Excellence functions are resourced with appropriately qualified and trained personnel Ensure all site engineering and safety-related standards defined as part of the Engineering Excellence programmes are consistent with and compliant with all internal and external standards and regulations Actively lead development of organisational structures and capability of site teams, including recruitment of key talent Site-Based Capital Project Delivery Lead the site-based capital programme, including pre-gate assurance of projects below the threshold requiring group project assurance Ensure effective management and reporting for site-based project portfolios Collaborate with central engineering & projects group and sites to drive project professionalisation of site-based staff, including functional leadership, staff development, career management Centre-Business Integration Active contribution to the wider Engineering team, participating in development and implementation of engineering strategy in support of the business Connect with centres of engineering expertise to support sites in region for capital programmes and operational improvement
