Events Manager The MHRA £33,502 per annum plus benefits Full time/Permanent Canary Wharf, London. There is also a requirement to travel to our site in South Mimms, Hertfordshire, on occasion, or to other locations as appropriate. You may also be expected to work unsocial hours on occasions with time off in lieu e.g., to support events. The MHRA is transforming. We are currently looking for an experienced Events Manager to join our Marketing Team within the Communication and Engagement function. The MHRA Communications and Engagement function is a multi-award-winning team that has a consistent track-record of achievement and providing value for money. Our focus is to support the agency to deliver its business outcomes by putting patients and the public at the centre of all our work. We are organised in the following teams: News and Media, Communications, Patient and Public Stakeholder Engagement and Customer Experience. The role sits in the Marketing team (part of the wider Communications team) which is responsible for developing and protecting our brands; developing and delivering marketing plans and activities that drive patients, customers, stakeholders and partners towards our products and services; managing customer research, data and insight projects that inform our strategies and activities; developing and delivering our income-generating events programme. We work closely with other teams and functions across the Communications and Engagement group – and the wider organisation – to deliver on our goals. What’s the role? The Events Manager will plan and efficiently implement our events programme comprising cost-effective, impactful in-person, hybrid and virtual events, exhibitions and speaker opportunities to ensure we meet our income and engagement objectives and consistently exceeds delegates’ expectations. They will promote our events using web, email and social media channels, use innovative technologies to deliver an optimised delegate experience, fully evaluate the impact of our events and support the Events Lead to develop new events and respond to queries. Who are we looking for? Our successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of planning, costing, marketing, delivering and evaluating impactful and cost-effective in-person, hybrid and virtual events (income- and non-income generating), exhibitions and speaker opportunities, on budget and to deadline, for a range of different audiences. You will have practical knowledge of how to deliver and promote these to achieve objectives as well as developing and evaluating the performance of events against objectives, KPIs, ROI or other metrics, and liaising with relevant suppliers. You will have knowledge of how to project manage an events programme including the creation of event plans, finance trackers, marketing plans and event briefings. You will also have excellent communicating and influencing skills and be adept at managing a quality service.
