The role:
Working closely with the Deputy Payroll & Pensions Manager, you will have extensive payroll and pensions experience at a managerial level, and you will be responsible for the leadership, management, development and delivery of an effective payroll and pension’s function.
You will be leading a team comprising Payroll and Pensions Co-ordinators and Payroll and Pensions Officers.
Your key duties will include:
• To manage and lead the Payroll & Pensions function • Engage with key stakeholders, staff associations and unions where necessary to ensure the service provision meets expectations and requirements• Provide interpretation, advice, guidance and recommendations to key stakeholders on all matters in Payroll & Pensions areas.• To be the Finance lead on any force projects/change management which effect individuals pay, pensions or benefits• To be responsible for and manage the provision of pensions for all current, retired and deferred staff across all pension schemes, ensuring all regulations are interpreted and implemented correctly
The requirements:
• At least 5 years relevant experience in payroll & pensions at a managerial level• Extensive knowledge of all legislation and regulations pertaining to pay and pensions• Experience of managing and prioritising conflicting priorities to meet organisational objectives• Proven experience of delivering significant organisational change• To be a confident and articulate presenter of complex, technical information• Experience and knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme• Practical experience of managing a team
