Robert Half is recruiting for a growing business in North Birmingham, We are looking to hire a qualified Head of Management Accounts to manage a team of 8 Management Accountants.

This is an excellent role for someone who is looking to join a growing business, who wants to add value and develop a team.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the leadership of the Accounting Team – 8 direct reports.
• Control and manage the month end process
• Responsible for all activity within the “record” part of R2R.
• Accountable for and monitoring service through KPI’s with a particular attention to journals – continually striving to drive down numbers and line items, through process enhancement and continuous improvement.
• Build and manage appropriate processes to prepare balance sheet reconciliations as defined in Balance Sheet rec policy
• With a strong controls focus, processes are challenged and enhanced ensuring that as a function we are working effectively and efficiently.
• Support with the embedding of transformation change and associated new ways of working.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors.
• Support, guide and empower the team through both BAU and continuous improvement change.

Experience required:

• Qualified Accountant
• Experience working within a large business or shared service enviroment would be an advantage
• Experience of managing a small to medium team, ideally with PQ and Qualified accounts within it
• Passion for supporting, leading and developing a team through change
• Have previous experience within a controls environment
• Previous experience in an audit environment would be an advantage
