Key responsibilities Support the Manager Financial Accounting to deliver the month end close in line with the SBU timetable Support the Manager Financial Accounting in continuously improving the company’s financial controls and processes Review the month end overheads, posting accruals and prepayment as required to reflect the actual cost in the period Prepayments – maintaining the prepayment schedule and posting the monthly journal. Accruals – preparing the monthly journal and processing any ad-hoc journals required for month end. Fixed Assets – maintaining the Fixed Asset Ledger to the Balance sheet and capital expenditure request forms Provide oversight to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Monitor employee timesheets completion on a weekly basis, publishing a report of outstanding timesheet and non-productive hours booked by employee/cost centre Ensure appropriate financial control is maintained across the business, including detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts Support all financial accounting activities, including the review and analysis of monthly results and disclosures Oversee overhead budgets ensuring cooperation with department heads to monitor progress and variances. Support all external and internal audit and control activities. Ensure that the Site adheres to the Group Operating Manual and other Group processes and guidelines. Maintain a balance sheet that is prudent with respect to profit accrual, depreciation and provisioning Maintain financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and tax requirements. Any other duties as and when required.Role requirements A sound understanding of the basic accounting processes is essential with some experience of financial accounting related matters. The ability and desire to interpret financial information will be beneficial to the successful candidate as we are looking to develop the role further in the future. Ability to obtain a government security clearance in country of residence.Qualifications / skills Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accountancy qualification an advantage. Problem-solving skills are crucial to analyzing past and current performance and recommending. objectives to improve productivity and profitability Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
