This is a key hire reporting into the divisional Finance Director who sees this appointment as a natural succession plan.As the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include: Providing financial support, challenge and insight to the business, delivering accurate and timely reporting of management information; Managing divisional budget and forecast processes, identifying and updating on any risks and opportunities; Developing a strong understanding of the business, using this knowledge to build credibility and trust with senior level stakeholders; Coordinating the preparation of robust Capital Expenditure requests and business cases; Owning the review of the divisional balance sheet and overseeing optimisation of working capital; Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and control requirements; Supporting development of and realisation of business strategy.The ideal person will have: A recognised UK accounting qualification (likely trained in practice) with a strong technical background and relevant post qualification experience to be credible as a subject matter expert; Experience of working in a large and complex business; Confidence and gravitas to business partner non-financial business leaders; A continuous improvement mindset and the motivation to follow through and execute appropriate changes; A hands-on approach but maintaining a strong grasp of the bigger picture; M&A transactions experience would also be advantageous.This is an outstanding opportunity with a very clear progression route for a high calibre individual to become a Finance Director.
