Fire Pump Service Engineer

Mpeople are currently recruiting for our client who are a specialist in the service support of fire pumps and sprinkler systems. They are currently recruiting for a fire pump service engineer. The role will be over various sites around the UK and also in the workshop.

Experience:

• Time Served but not essential.
• Mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled background
• 2 years (preferred) of pumps and their drivers
• Working knowledge of fire systems.
• UK driving licence.

Must be able to work on your own or with others to undertake the following tasks:

• Carry out planned maintenance works to Fire Pumps, diesel engines, electric motors and their control panels – LPC/NFPA/FM standards.
• Attend emergency ‘call outs’ on a rota basis.
• Ability to carry out ‘electrical’ and ‘mechanical’ on site repairs.
• Carry out removal of equipment from site to facilitate workshop inspection and repair.
• Carry out installation and testing of new and/or repair equipment.
• Must have good communication, written and IT skills.
• Provide written or typed reports.
• Carry manual handling and use lifting equipment.

Benefits & other details:

• Starting salary circa 30k depending on experience
• Company pool vehicle provided (Once probation has been passed)
• Paid Annual leave, entitlement 34 days’ holiday a year, inclusive of any bank/public holidays.

• Out of hours work and call outs paid as an addition to salary.

• Some overnight stays, average one night a week in the UK.
