Tradewind is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Geography Specialist to join a local to Scunthorpe secondary school on behalf of our long-standing and highly valued client. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to contribute to the school’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and enriching education for its students. This is a full-time position for the upcoming academic year, with a strong possibility of a permanent employment for the right candidate.

As the Geography Specialist, you will be responsible for teaching key stage 3 and key stage 4 students, providing them with a solid foundation in geography and fostering their curiosity about the world around them. The role will involve comprehensive lesson planning and marking to ensure the students’ progress and engagement with the subject matter.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of geography and a genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young minds. You will have excellent subject knowledge and be capable of delivering engaging lessons that capture the students’ imagination. By utilising innovative teaching methods and resources, you will encourage students to explore and appreciate the global nature of the world, as well as develop their understanding of global issues that may impact their lives.

• Competitive pay: The pay for this position is to scale from day one and will range between £143.58 and £220 per day, depending upon MPS/UPS placement. Please note that some schools may cap at M6 for supply staff.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
• Specialism in geography, with a strong academic background in the subject.
• Proven experience teaching geography at key stage 3 and/or key stage 4 level.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one as part of the registration process with Tradewind.
