Provide trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of HGV’s Modify and overhaul power plant, drivetrain, brakes, Hydraulics etc.HGV technicianc£33k – £37k + OTOur client is an extremely well-established freight and logistics provider operating globally across land, air and sea freight movements and due to expansion across all UK hubs and subsidiaries, we are delighted to support in their search for experienced HGV Technicians to join their team at their site near Knighton.The position will involve servicing as well as repairs & safety inspections work on heavy and light goods vehicles out of their own depots.Most work is pre-planned, there are no roadside breakdowns to attend.Hours – Monday to Friday08:00 – 17:00 (2 wks) / 12:00 – 22:00 (1 wk) + some SaturdaysKey Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance as per established schedules on all vehicles. Provide trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of HGV faults as required. Modify and overhaul power plant, drivetrain, brake, electric and hydraulic systems. Remove or make safe any unserviceable vehicles and ensure they are not returned to service until any faults have been properly diagnosed and repaired. Operate and drive all types of vehicles. Collect spares and materials required for maintenance and repairs. Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment in accordance with PUWER Regulations. Demonstrate a personal commitment to rigorously enforcing appropriate standards of Health and Safety, in order to ensure performance improves year on year. Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with legal legislation requirements. Keep workshop and equipment clean and serviceable at all times, reporting any deficiencies to management. Attend and complete all training as required.Candidate requirements: A good level of mechanical engineering experience as required. An accredited qualification such as NVQ3 in vehicle maintenance. (City & Guilds) Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) skills and experience are desired. Flexible to work on various shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays). Ability to be available on a rotating shift basis. Ability to speak and understand the English language. Able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment. A full valid UK driving license. Knowledge of fleet maintenance programs.
