Holiday Club Youth Worker Are you passionate about improving the life chances of young people? We have a Youth Worker position available working for a day camp provision for young people aged 8-12 during the school holidays. The aim of this amazing charity is to help improve the lives of young people in Barnet by giving them somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to. Position: Youth Worker Holiday Club Location: Edgware, London. Salary: £11.95 per hour Contract: Fixed Term, for school holidays, various shifts Mon-Fri between 7:45am & 6pm About the role: As Youth Worker you will work at a day camp provision for young people aged 8-12 during the school holidays. Holiday Clubs run for 12 weeks a year two weeks at Christmas, two weeks at Easter, five weeks over the summer and a week over each half-term. Holiday Club runs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays 8am-3pm, with an Extended Holiday Club offer until 6pm as well. You will be involved in session delivery, planning, preparation, and work with young people closely. You will be provided all the necessary equipment and training and will be afforded plentiful personal development opportunities. You will be someone with a clear can do approach, committed to a growth mind-set, eager to learn and willing to take risks all for the benefit of supporting young people. You will demonstrate our Values through all you do and will commit to giving your best at every session for young people. About you: To be successful in the role of Youth Worker you will be a role model for young people and present a positive can do attitude You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience: Face-to-face activity delivery, working with young people both in groups and individually Experience in delivering a range of activities to young people Experience in supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving, and/or have social/emotional barriers to participation Experience working in a team and alongside volunteers Understanding of issues affecting young people s lives A willingness to work unsociable hours The charity is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable groups.
