Due to the requirements of the role, some out of hours work will be expected to manage Live HMRC Implementations, for which you can claim either overtime or a flexi credit. The Team Our role sits within Service Management & Operations (SM&O) which forms part of the Chief Digital & Information Group (CDIO). SM&O are accountable for the end-to-end service of HMRC s IT Systems & Services, and our focus is ensuring a consistent, excellent Customer Experience. Within SM&O is our Service Implementation and Transition Team (S&IT) where our role sits. The team is crucial in the introduction of new services into the HMRC Estate, to ensure that there is guidance and consistency around involvement in major and cross cutting projects to give the appropriate end to end view and assurance. Job description As an Implementation Manager you will manage complex critical change to the service infrastructure on the HMRC Estate. The Implementation Manager: Takes a set of requirements that have been defined, designed, and tested prior to implementation and promotes them into Live. Ensures resources are confirmed and activities are documented and sequenced. Acts as the central point of contact during the Schedule Creation Forums, and implementation stages. Responsible for managing the teams, resources, and third parties Implementation Managers during the Implementation. Provides regular updates to internal and external stakeholders. Accountability remains with the IT change owner. The above will be achieved by: Creating Implementation Schedules (Excel based) for project and release activities across multiple supplier teams Organising and facilitating Implementation Management Forums, taking accurate minutes. Agree and produce communication plans Raise and respond to queries from key stakeholders providing information and amending implementation Schedule as appropriate., Managing the recording of activities, results and technical activity undertaken. Managing changes to the live environment, identifying and escalating risks/key dependencies Ensure the project is handed over to Live Services with any issues/defects documented and agreed by all stakeholders. Don t be concerned by all the above you won t be expected to hit the ground running. You will be supported by a Senior Implementation Manager. You will shadow and work alongside them until they acknowledge you are ready to run on your own. Person specification Essential Criteria Demonstrable people skills managing internal and external stakeholders. Effective and persuasive communication skills both oral and written. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrable skills with Microsoft Office applications predominately Excel, Teams, Outlook. A basic knowledge of variety of these – Server Hardware, Operating Systems Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, Cloud Public / Private, Databases, Desktop Applications, Network – LAN, WAN Desirable Criteria Working knowledge of ITIL v4 and Service Now. Working Knowledge of Project Management, Prince 2, Waterfall, Agile, Dev-Ops Experience of working in a technical role within an organisation with a working knowledge of technical teams across development work streams. Good work ethic, able to demonstrate a meticulous method of working and attention to detail. Initiative: Being proactive, anticipating opportunities for service improvement and taking appropriate action Interacting with people: Establishing relationships and maintain contacts with people from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
