The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Network Engineer on behalf of our client, a well-established, nationwide utilities provider. The role sits within a skilled team of Network Engineers who work within the Information Services department and report to the Networks and Connectivity Service Manager.
The team play a crucial role in ensuring an efficient service is delivered through monitoring and maintaining critical Network Infrastructure. A key aspect of the role is also designing and implementing Network services across, data, security and voice platforms.
The position offers a perfect environment for Network professionals to develop their skills and gain exposure cutting edge cloud technologies as the business is implementing significant modernisation upgrades across their platforms.
Key Responsibilities;
Design and Implement network services across data, voice and security platforms
Monitor and maintain the network to ensure a reliable efficient service
Respond to and resolve critical incidents
Liaise and manage 3rd party service providers
The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate skills in;
Managing various data, security and voice network products and services
Working with critical network infrastructure and enterprise level datacentres
Routing and switching – CCNP/CCNA (Routing and Switching and/or Data centre) and experience supporting wired and wireless networks
Cloud technologies – Practical experience in managing a virtual networking environment would be very desirable
The administration of Firewalls
An awareness of SIP trunking and IP telephony platforms
