EQUANS is looking for an IT Solution Architect to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The role offers hybrid working with a requirement to attend one of our offices closest to you. On offer is a salary banding of £68,000-£80,000, dependent upon skills and experience, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
As a Solution Architect, you’ll lead from the front in designing our Enterprise’s Target Architecture and Solutions that move us towards our goal of Digital Transformation for a growing business.
The IT Solution Architect will be responsible in defining solution strategy, designing, and overseeing implementation of complex IT solutions and turning business objectives into outcomes in support of EQUANS business strategy. Your contribution will be instrumental to our IT strategy of simplifying, modernising, and de-risking the technology landscape and ultimately driving value for the organisation and our customers. The successful candidate must have good understanding of the different IT Architecture Domains and must have deep understanding and experience working in one or more. This role will be part of the IT Demand team that oversees and manages new requests for IT solutions across the UK business.
What will you deliver?
Analysing business and system requirements: IT Solution Architect must be able to work with business and operational stakeholders to understand their needs and objectives, and then identify the technology solutions that can help meet those needs
Evaluating technology options: Evaluate different technology options, including cloud services, commercial products, review existing Enterprise Applications portfolio and in-house skills to identify the most appropriate solution for the organization.
Designing technical solutions: Design cost effective technology solutions for the overall platform architecture with due consideration to scale, reliability, security, and support.
Define architecture, methodologies, and solutions often where no standards or commercial alternatives exist.
Assisting when required with the creation of business cases including estimated benefits, costs, and solution options.
Creating technical documentation: Create technical documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans, that describe how the technology solution should be implemented.
Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, other Domain Architects, Business Analysts and Project Managers, to ensure that the solution meets the needs of the business.
Be responsible for cataloguing, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and applying architecture models and representations within Enterprise Architecture Framework.
Manage engagement with suppliers when requesting information or proposals on solution requirements to support strategic programmes and technology selection.
Supporting IT Business Partners and Bid development teams in reviewing and developing solution options for new contract opportunities including innovation ideas to drive efficiencies and value.

Who are we looking for?
Educated to Degree level and would be advantageous in a numerate (Mathematics, Engineering or Scientific) or Computer Science subject.
Demonstrable 3+ years’ experience as an IT Architect in at least one IT Architecture Domain: Application, Integration, Automation, Infrastructure including Cloud, Networks.
Demonstrable experience with at least 1 public cloud platform: AWS Azure, GCP.
Demonstrable experience of design and architecture using IaaS and PaaS services when hosting applications in the cloud.
Demonstrable experience of Integrating solutions and architecture patterns when connecting disparate platforms in a complex business environment.
Knowledge of Low code platforms and their impact on Enterprises.
Demonstrable experience of working with modern Networking solutions including cloud networking services, software defined networks and networking options for IoT.
Is a strategic thinker, can take a broader view of situations and motivations with knowledge of architecture governance.
Has knowledge and understanding of a variety of current and upcoming technologies and innovations and how they may impact organisations including infrastructure, business applications and integration services.
Has experience in developing business cases, technology roadmaps, business and technical requirements and translating them into technical designs and services.
Has strong technical acumen to identify trends and opportunities to develop roadmap that can support business transformation.
Has knowledge and understanding of frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman and ArchiMate and can demonstrate its value for the enterprise.
Experience working within government, regulated industries, defence, or security including impact of heightened information and cyber security requirements to meet the standard set by frameworks such as ISO27001, CE and CE+.
Experience of CI/CD tooling.
