Division The Toxicology team is responsible for the analysis of body fluids and other biological material for alcohol, drugs and poisons in a wide range of criminal cases. Offence types encountered include affray, sexual assault, causing death by dangerous driving, homicide and sudden death. The team also undertakes analyses for H M Coroner in the investigation into the cause of death. We are looking for a Forensic Examiner to join our dedicated team. The Role This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first class business, as a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for: Preparing laboratory reagents in accordance with inhouse SOPs and preparing and maintaining reference materials and standard solutions in accordance with inhouse SOPs Routine checking of casework quality controls and calibration solutions Maintain and carry out calibration of equipment e.g. balance, pipettes, pH meter and maintain accurate continuity records Maintain the cleanliness of the laboratories and order supplies including reference materials in a timely manner and goods receipt items The ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who preferably has a further education certificate in a scientific discipline or equivalent, along with the ability to keep detailed and timely records of all tasks completed to satisfy quality procedures. Along with the ability to multitask and work to deadlines. You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and possesses the competence and team spirit to support others and contribute to a positive culture.
